Description
The site sits about 10 miles south of the Arroyo Seco in the foothills outside of King City, and is known for blustery afternoon winds similar to the mistrals, or winds, that blow in the south of France. We call upon this site for Cinsault to make a rosé for our Eugenia brand; less than one acre at the site is planted to these grapes.
LABEL STORY: Erin’s maternal grandmother, Eugenia, would serve cowboys an early campfire breakfast and transition to church tea in the afternoon. Her remarkable contributions to family and community inspire The Country Wife, a wine both humble and sophisticated.
TASTING NOTE: Starry pale salmon-to-copper hue with fresh aromas of morning dew, wet sand, citrus blossoms. Bright acidity, minerality, and juicy flavors of tangerine, kumquat, and sour apple deliver a complex, energetic, and persistent finish.
