Description
The first aromas of citrus zest and flint open up to barely-ripe Gravenstein apple, Meyer lemon curd, and almond blossom. The palate is focused, taught, and slightly saline, with intense mineral structure and the polished edges of a wine raised on its lees for 18 months. Tension and minerality linger through the long finish.
“The 2018 Chardonnay Bruzzone is an attractive Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay. Bright acids and veins of underlying salinity perk up the lemon confit, mint, white pepper and floral notes. Readers will find a mid-weight, taut Chardonnay with striking translucence and plenty of class. I would give it a few hours of aeration.” – Antonio Galloni
Clean lines of chamomile, freshly grated yuzu zest and light chalk show on the very precise and chiseled nose of this bottling from a vineyard planted in 1998 just four miles from the ocean. The sip is very grippy, with an aggressively chalky texture that surrounds white-peach and tart orange flavors.
