We planted our vineyard in 1999 amid red volcanic soils shot with black obsidian, and among abandoned walnut trees, overlooking a dormant volcano. Today, these Red Hills are proving to be the next great frontier in Cabernet Sauvignon.
We believe in sharing our knowledge and enjoyment of our natural sources from forest to vineyard – we love taking people on deep dives into the forests of Tokaj, the wetlands abutting Napa Carneros and the volcanic mountains of the Mayacamas.
The combination of winemaking and adventure define the Obsidian brand and are reflected in the wines. The exciting high and low elevation terroir are enveloped in a commitment to using their flagship Hungarian oak.
