Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon dominate the American wine scene but there is so much more to the story. From Lemberger to Trousseau, our Masterclass Box explores the exciting wines being produced in the US from our thoughtful winemakers.
The wines included in this box are:
1. Shypoke Rosé of Charbono 2019, Calistoga, Californa
A fuller bodied and well balanced Rosé with pomegranate and dark red fruits like Cherry
2. Hatton Daniels Malvasia Bianca, Ceccini Vineyard, 2019 Costa County, California
Tropical flavors are joined by green apple and white pepper, and Malvasia’s characteristic orange blossom note.
3. Edaphos Trousseau, Alder Springs VIneyard, 2019 Mendocino, California
Mixed aromas of sour red berries, pine resin and an indescribable suggestion of salinity to top it all. At only 12% alcohol it is actually pretty assertive and vibrant on the palate. The sourness of the red fruit is fully revealed and framed by sharp acidity and medium dry tannins.
4. Fine Disregard Semillon Millhouse Vineyard, 2016 Napa Valley, California
Roughly ten percent of the vines in the block are what we believe is the pink skinned Madeira clone mutation of Semillon that is occasionally found in South Australia.
4. Kiona Lemburger
For more than four decades Lemberger has been an important part of Red Mountain. The grape thrives here, producing medium-bodied, fruit-driven wines that pair well with a wide array of foods. It’s an uncommon grape that is worthy of attention.
