Bel canto — Italian for “beautiful singing” — is a style defined by beauty of tone rather than dramatic power. It is an apt name for this estate blend from Cadence’s Cara Mia Vineyard: a wine of impeccable balance and quiet intensity that rewards patience as much as it rewards an early pour.

Stunning, deep aromas of minerals, plums, and spice open the nose. The palate is powerful yet refined, with a fruit core of plums, blueberries, and cherries underpinned by tremendous concentration and length. The finish is long and lifted by bright acidity and an exceptional tannic structure. Decant for pleasure now, or cellar until your patience wears thin.

Aged in 50% new French oak (Taransaud, Darnajou, Sylvain) and 50% second fill. Bottled August 2019. Released 17 October 2020.
