Canaille Pinot Noir Santa Maria Valley 2022
A blend of two Santa Maria Valley vineyards: younger plantings from Rancho Ontiveros and the old-vine plantings from Rancho Viñedo, planted in 1973. Both are farmed organically. The grapes are picked in two separate passes, fermented with native yeast and 40% whole cluster, then aged for 10 months in old French oak barrels. Bottled with minimal sulphur and without filtration.
The result is a Pinot Noir of real depth and transparency — earthy, precise, and expressive of the cool Santa Maria Valley climate that makes this region one of California’s most exciting for the grape.
