A Napa Cabernet that breaks the mould — harvested at sunrise, built for the cellar.

Following in the footsteps of the acclaimed 2016 vintage, the 2017 growing season was marked by generous rainfall in late winter followed by tremendous heat spikes going into harvest. What resulted was an intense concentration of berries, allowing for a wine of remarkable complexity.

Harvested at sunrise on 22nd September 2017, the G.B. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon breaks the mould of traditional Napa Valley Cabernet and espouses a unique representation of its time and place — a wine that rewards patience and rewards the cellar.

Dark garnet with a touch of vermillion on the rim. The wine opens with layers of ripe blue fruits, black cherry, cedar box, dried tobacco and tarragon. Robust on entry with notes of ripe plum and dark chocolate, the mid-palate conjures a tantalising earthiness — pluot reduction, bouquet garni — all framed by a band of acidity and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. The finish is energetic and long, closing with dusty, velvety tannins, liquorice and lingering orange peel.
