Gail Monte Rosso Sangiovese

Perched above the eastern flank of the Sonoma Valley in the Moon Mountain District sits the legendary Monte Rosso vineyard — synonymous with its red, iron-rich soils and some of the most age-worthy wines in California’s history. Over recent vintages, vineyard manager Brenae Royale has been working tirelessly to transition this complex site from organic to sustainable farming.

In the past, Monte Rosso fruit has gone to larger producers. Thanks to Brenae’s invitation, Gail is one of the few small producers privileged to work with this extraordinary vineyard. The Sangiovese that comes from here is a wine of real character — structured, mineral, and deeply expressive of one of California’s most storied sites.
