Outward Pinot Gris Pettilant Naturel 2022
Sourced from the Bassi Vineyard — just 1.2 miles from the cold Pacific, Outward’s most coastal site, farmed organically with biodynamic practices. The Pinot Gris was planted in 2001 on a south-facing hillside, very exposed to cool wind and fog rolling in from the ocean.
Made according to the méthode ancestrale — the world’s oldest technique for sparkling wine. Native vineyard yeast was used, and the wine was bottled mid-fermentation to trap CO₂ in the bottle. After two months on lees, each bottle was hand-disgorged, finished with corks and cages, and hand-labelled.
Only 66 cases produced.
