Peay AMA Pinot Noir 2019 1.5 L
The Ama is one of Peay’s three estate Pinot Noirs, and it is a wine of extraordinary complexity and craft. Thirteen clones of Pinot Noir are picked into 25–30 separate blocks, each with different sensory characteristics shaped by clone, soil, aspect, rootstock, and ripeness at picking. Some lots emphasise fruit, some are earthy, some have deep bass notes, some are light and floral — and on and on. Each block is vinified and aged separately before blending prior to bottling.
The result is a wine that is greater than the sum of its many parts: layered, precise, and deeply expressive of the Peay estate on the Sonoma Coast.
This 1.5 litre magnum format ages more slowly and gracefully, making it an exceptional choice for cellaring or a landmark occasion.
