Cabernet Sauvignon has long been synonymous with California wines. The much maligned and yet loved Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has set the benchmark for what fine wine means in the United States. Often expensive, deliberately allocated and prone to over extraction, the diverse geographic expressions can get overlooked on the assumption that the style is one dimensional. Cabernet Sauvignon is far from one dimensional, it is much more complex and interesting across the American wine landscape.
