Bates Ranch is the pinnacle of what great rosé should be. Full of summer fruits, wild strawberry, watermelon and red currant, elegant, light and dry in style. Floral scents emanate from the glass and take you to fields surrounded by Redwoods and cool Pacific breezes. Our third vintage of the Bates Ranch is a rare offer of single vineyard, cool climate, California Grenache in its most inviting form, rosé.
Description
Perched high atop the southeast corner of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA at elevations up to 1000 feet, the steep slopes and shallow gravelly soils of Bates Ranch have yielded stunning wines of great complexity for over four decades. The old-vine Grenache vineyard sits on a mid-mountain dome and the south-facing cabernet vineyard includes an upper block planted in 1974 on St. George rootstock with majestic tree-like stature.
