Hirsch West Ridge 2014

The 2014 West Ridge is reminiscent of the 2009, with concentrated, bright red fruit and well-integrated tannins. This was a phenomenal vintage for West Ridge, matching fruit density with this wine’s characteristic elegance. While already quite expressive, the 2014 will only improve with time.

Description

The West Ridge Estate Pinot Noir is a very limited production bottling from the oldest and most exceptional sections on the cool West Ridge of Hirsch. It is a wine that seduces with complexity and mystery, rather than with power. The West Ridge is the most delicate of our wines, with soft tannins and transparent fruit. 12.7% alc. The West Ridge Pinot Noir also includes the very best barrels from Blocks 6 and 12, planted to the heritage California Pinot Noir clones of Swan and Pommard-Wadenswil. The West Ridge is the most delicate and transparent of our wines, seducing with complexity and mystery, rather than with power.
