Hatton Daniels Blaufränkisch 2019

After years of working with Mokelumne Glen Vineyard, Hatton Daniels have come to believe that Blaufränkisch offers the most compelling varietal complexity of any grape on the site. To honour that, they destem it fully and age it in their oldest large-format barrels — letting the fruit take centre stage without interference from new oak.

The 2019 is dark and complex, with an intriguing spice note that weaves through the natural black and red fruit. A wine of quiet confidence and genuine character, from one of California’s most unexpected sources for Central European varieties.
