Sandar & Hem Mountain Winery 2020
Towering 1,200 feet above Silicon Valley, on steep south-facing slopes of gravelly loam and fractured Franciscan shale, lies the historic Mountain Winery Vineyard. Originally planted by the Burgundian Paul Masson at the turn of the 20th century — with vine material he brought back from France — this site is ground zero for fine wine in California.
Replanted in 2004 to material from the historic vineyard, Sandar & Hem thrill in rediscovering the origins of the legend through this wine. It is a wine of place, history, and elevation — a genuine piece of California’s winemaking story.
