Shypoke Sangiovese 2019

Sourced from the Shypoke estate block of Sangiovese, this wine is named in honour of Olivia Meyer — great-great-granddaughter of Michael and Louise Heitz, who planted roots in this soil in 1904. It is a wine with deep family meaning and a deep sense of place.

The fruit is hand-picked and cold-soaked while awaiting fermentation, followed by gentle hand punch-downs. The juice is then pressed directly to seasoned French oak barrels for native malolactic fermentation. These very traditional methods help capture the sense of place and time that makes Shypoke wines so distinctive.
