Toil Estate Chardonnay 2021

The 2021 vintage was, all the way around, a spectacular one. An abnormally dry spring in the Willamette Valley meant careful management of cover crop timing to avoid competition for water with the vines. That decision paid off when a summer heat wave struck in August — the Toil Estate Vineyard sailed through it without event. A gorgeous September then allowed for perfect ripening of a smaller-than-normal crop.

The result is a Chardonnay of real concentration and elegance — a wine that reflects both the care taken in the vineyard and the exceptional conditions of a vintage that rewarded patience and precision.
