Description
Kiona Vineyard was the first to be planted on Red Mountain and our block of Lemberger was amongst the first plantings there in 1976. Once considered a potential signature grape for Washington, there are now believed to be only about 50 acres planted in the State. Red Mountain is known as a warm region, but the old block of Lemberger is located in a lower, cooler pocket of the vineyard that tends to ripen much later and better retain acidity.
