A rare expression of Lemberger in a Pet-Nat style. The wine has vigorous bubbles and a pale persimmon hue with aromas of fresh
strawberry, pomegrante and aperol spritz with a mineral backbone. A joy to drink.
Description
Lemberger was one of the first plantings in the Kiona Vineyard in 1976. Considered a potential signature grape for Washington, there are now believed to be only about 50 acres planted in the State. Red Mountain is known as a warm region, but the old block of Lemberger is located in a lower, cooler pocket of the vineyard that tends to ripen much later and better retain acidity.
