This is the 15th vintage of Scallop Shelf Pinot noir (off 21 year old vines) and the overall profile of the cuvee that first emerged in the 2014 vintage has come into full development. Scallop Shelf is not a simple, fruit-driven wine, instead offering a complex savory and mineral impression with floral top notes that emphasize elegance and intrigue over power. The overall balance and harmony and the tell-tale acidity that are hallmarks of our Estate vineyard promise a long life for the 2019 Scallop Shelf. I would wait a year before opening the first bottle and then watch it evolve for decades
