Learn More About Oregon

Oregon wines are, quite rightly, renowned for their high-quality pinot noir, which has earned the state a reputation as one of the world’s premier wine regions.

Its earthy undertones and hints of cherry, blackberry, and spice make it truly stand out in the world of wine. The state’s cool climate and volcanic soil provide ideal growing conditions for these grapes, resulting in rich and complex tastes that are unmatched elsewhere.

However, there is much more to Oregon wines than just pinot. The state is also home to exceptional chardonnay, riesling, and syrah varietals, among others, which thrive in this region thanks to its diverse microclimates and unique terroir of marine-influenced climate and varied elevations.

Many wineries in Oregon focus on sustainable and organic practices in both vineyard cultivation and winemaking processes, which not only preserve the environment but also enhance the character of their product, allowing them to express their distinct sense of place without interference from synthetic chemicals or additives.

A great example of an Oregon Pinot Noir is Edaphos Giving Tree, from Ernest Vineyards. Our Wine expert Jennifer Williams-Bulkeley, loves their approach to wine making…

“Winemaker Joseph Ryan “Joey” is deliberate about his farming, his sites and his process. Joey is one of my true lights when it comes to understanding why real winemakers make wine. He is thoughtful, passionate and a joy to spend time with and his wine’s reflect his commitment.”
